Overview
Lead integrated planning, dependencies, QA and release governance for a Kotlin backend programme supporting a large-scale digital service in Japan.
Responsibilities
- Own the master schedule, milestones, critical path and release plan
- Manage dependencies across Kotlin/JVM backend teams, APIs, QA, environments, operations and external teams
- Turn technical estimates and decisions from engineering leads into an executable integrated plan and clear decision requests
- Coordinate architecture reviews, QA entry/exit criteria, release approvals and freeze periods
- Track KPIs and RAID items, explain delay causes, propose recovery options and report to leadership in English
- Drive phased onboarding, handover and knowledge transfer
Requirements
- 5+ years managing complex software or backend delivery
- Working understanding of Kotlin or Java/JVM, microservices and API dependencies; able to engage credibly with engineers
- Hands-on experience in integrated planning, risk/dependency management and QA/release governance
- Professional English for meetings, documentation, status reporting and escalation
- Clear understanding of the boundary between project management and technical leadership
- PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum/Agile credentials or multi-vendor delivery experience are advantageous
