Overview
Tokyo-based architecture role spanning factory-automation software, industrial connectivity, data platforms and cloud or edge delivery.
Responsibilities
- Translate customer needs into scalable architectures covering software, data, integration, infrastructure, security and operations
- Design integration across SCADA, HMI, MES or MOM, DCS, PLCs, gateways, historians and enterprise systems such as ERP
- Define connectivity using OPC UA or DA, Modbus, MQTT, BACnet, SNMP, REST, SOAP, TCP/IP and secure APIs
- Lead on-premises, cloud, edge and hybrid deployment, availability, observability and cybersecurity design
- Set architecture guardrails, API principles, data models, testing, CI/CD and engineering governance
- Lead customer workshops, proposals, architecture reviews and resolution of complex technical issues
Requirements
- 9-15 years of IT experience, including 3+ years as a Technical Architect, Solution Architect or equivalent technical leader
- Strong industrial or factory-automation software development and system-integration experience
- Hands-on knowledge of SCADA, HMI, MES or MOM, DCS, PLCs, industrial gateways and historians
- Understanding of industrial protocols, SQL or time-series databases, Azure or AWS, DevOps and containerisation
- Strong customer discovery, estimation, documentation, technical decision-making and team-leadership skills
- Business Japanese at JLPT N2-equivalent or above and professional English; applicants are assessed on capability, not nationality, and should be open to occasional travel
