How to build an engineering team across Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong

Answer first: design around deliverables and site contact, not country labels

A strong engineering hiring plan does not start with separate vacancy lists for each market. First separate roles that must stay close to customers, factories or test equipment; design, analysis and software work that can be shared regionally; and work that can be owned as a defined deliverable. TACjob.com is centred in Tokyo and connects Japan-first demand with talent across Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Engineering means more than software

  • Mechanical: CAD, mechanisms, enclosures, thermal and structural analysis, design for production
  • Electrical and electronics: circuits, PCB, power, sensors, semiconductors and EMC
  • Embedded and controls: C/C++, AUTOSAR, PLC, firmware and model-based development
  • Validation and quality: system test, HIL/SIL, reliability, quality assurance and supplier quality
  • Manufacturing: process design, automation, equipment, continuous improvement and production launch

What to define in the first ten business days

Create one brief covering the product, development phase, standards, tools, deliverables, language, travel or onsite expectations, decision owner and interview stages. Where mechanical, electronics and embedded disciplines meet, document interface ownership and change control early; this improves assessment and reduces rework after mobilisation.

Choose recruitment, dispatch or project delivery deliberately

  • Use permanent recruitment or headhunting for core capability and knowledge that should remain in-house
  • Use licensed worker dispatch in Japan when the client will direct additional staff day to day
  • Use project delivery when the supplier owns scope, output, quality and schedule
  • Start with talent mapping and compensation research when the market or operating model is still uncertain

Assess technical depth and execution separately

Ask for evidence of design decisions, failure analysis, quality recovery, supplier or customer coordination and prioritisation under change. Tool-name matching is not enough. Structured review of design artefacts, problem-solving sequence and the candidate's actual ownership produces a more reliable decision.

How TAC supports the build

From a Tokyo customer and site interface, TAC can support talent search across Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong, technical screening, interview coordination, onboarding and—where suitable—project-team design. Share role, location, headcount and timing, and we will map the available market and delivery route.

Turn the market range into a practical hiring plan

Share the roles, locations, headcount and target start date. We will map a realistic budget and delivery route for your business.
